Microsoft SaaS :

 

 

Microsoft has committed  $6 billion  to delivering software as a service (SaaS) and working on plans for a partner program

Microsoft is launching a partner program to get ISVs to but into the Microsoft version of SaaS

With  Partnering for the Future' initiative, Microsoft is looking to increase the talent with new ISV's.

Karl Noakes, director of the partner development group at Microsoft, said: "We need to make sure Microsoft is developing in keeping with the trends and demands of this web 2.0 age."

SAP hires SaaS Guru from RightNow

 

SAP has hired Peter Dunning  who was  the president of field operations at RightNow his new position will be executive VP of strategic industries.

I am sure he is going to have his work cut out for him trying to get SAP around the SaaS mindset but does show that the big boys even conservative SAP needs to offer a viable ERP SaaS package.
